Details:
I was on a cruise ship that was not an eclipse cruise, but would be close to the path of totality. As mutiny was off the cards, after taking many shots of the partial phase through a solar filter, a few seconds before eclipse maximum I removed the filter. I used a mirrorless camera (to protect my eyes) and fast continuous readout, plus handheld the telephoto zoom (to minimise potential sensor burn-in via windshake, jitter, and ship movement). Wasn't sure I would see anything, but in the electronic viewfinder I could clearly see the outline of the moon against the inner corona and the large prominence on the Eastern limb. Happy to report the camera was fine after, but not sure how other systems would handle such a tough shot. Details: Canon R5 mkII+RF100-500mm, 1/2000 sec, f/11, ISO 800. First shot processed in lightroom, second shot a denoised raw from camera, third shot 8 seconds before through Baader solar film.
